The Alois Lageder Winery comes to life in the picturesque lands of Albions, a charming mountain village in Val Gardena. In the 19th century, the courageous Johann Lageder left mountain life behind to seek his fortune in the city. From a modest job as a wheelwright, the beginning of a story emerges that would give rise to a wine empire.

Generational Passion: Continuity and Success

In 1823, Johann took over the cartwright's business, opening the door to his passion for wine. In 1855, Johann's sons split their time between cartwright and wine merchant, Alois continuing the winemaking tradition. The company grew rapidly, allowing Alois to acquire the first vineyards and to make wine from both his own and purchased grapes.

From Root to Peak: Quality as an Indelible Imprint

The winery, passed on from generation to generation, carries on Alois' legacy of quality. Today, with Alois IV at the helm, the quest for perfection in wine remains undiminished. The modern wine cellar in Magré embodies the sustainable and technological commitment, with state-of-the-art equipment such as grape handling by gravity, in the imposing 17-metre 'tower'.
