Still red, Toscana IGT, produced by Castello di Fonterutoli (Mazzei). Blend: 50% Merlot, 50% Sangiovese. 0.75 l bottle, 2021 vintage. A wine born from the passion of the Mazzei family, who for over six hundred years have been producing unique wines with a spirit and passion that are renewed from generation to generation. A sea of wild fruit, juniper, rosewood, sandalwood, blond tobacco, and even hints of noble vegetal and leather unfold seamlessly. The palate is equally intense and fiery, full of perfectly modulated tannins and a perfectly satisfying and long finish.

At Fonterutoli, as well as at Belguardo and Zisola, resides the same philosophy that aims to promote local vine varieties as an expression of the identity of the region, in respect of diversity and nature, via sustainable agriculture and improvements mindfull of the delicate hydro-geologic balance, in order to prevent soil erosion and maximize water reserves in the region. All of this in order to be able to hand the land intact to future generations.
