Ylice is the wine with which we wanted to capture and enhance the value and uniqueness of the vineyard "La Spina"; a vineyard cultivated with Verdicchio on sandy soil that lies close to a lush forest of oak trees, in effect a small "Cru" within the cultivation area of Verdicchio Classico. Taking care of the vines in full respect of the territory, carefully controlling every single intervention and working with passion in the cellar allows us to offer you a unique wine, made of great freshness, excellent drinkability and innate elegance.

Profumo

香水

The bouquet is intensely perfumed, with particularly fragrant, floral and fruity sensations. There are notes of acacia and yellow rose, white flesh peach and a clear aroma of almond, typical of the Verdicchio vine. The finish has a light vegetal touch.

Straw yellow with evident greenish reflections, it has excellent luminosity.

The flavour is distinguished by the complexity of the aromas, the persistence and above all by the important savoury timbre which will determine durability and elegance in its evolutionary capacity; in the fresh and enveloping finish, a pleasant citrus scent emerges.

In the 1960s, continuing the farming traditions of his father Armando, Argilio Mattioli founded a small family business, a reality built on a passion for work and respect for the territory. Initially oriented towards the production of Verdicchio grapes, wheat and oil, with the generational change, the company broadened its horizons and entered the world of wine-making.

The construction of a modern, organically run winery, completely immersed in the vineyards, was the natural completion of a project aimed at preserving and enhancing the value of the grapes, which can thus be processed just a few minutes after their harvest. Starting from the earth and arriving at the bunch of grapes allows us to produce quality wines with a strong territorial connotation. Story In the vicinity of our wine cellar stood an ancient villa known as "il castellare de Ylice" around the 12th century. The name was probably derived from the Latin word ilex (Holm oak), a particular variety of oak that is widespread in our area. Today, no trace of this historic villa remains, but our passion and respect for our territory has led us to pass on the name of this ancient presence.
