历史 The ORVIETO Controlled Denomination of Origin was recognised in 1971 and over the last forty years, it has enjoyed extraordinary growth in both quantity and quality: Orvieto is now one of the best known Italian white wines in the world and alone accounts for about three quarters of Umbria's DOC wine production. The D.O.C. area is divided into Orvieto Classico, which represents the area around the tuff cliff on which the city of Orvieto and its surroundings are located, and Orvieto, which completes it to the north and south. The geological components of the territory - of volcanic origin - combined with the favourable and peculiar microclimate that characterises the valleys of the Paglia and lower Tiber, are at the basis of the oenological fortunes that have been one with the city since time immemorial. It is no coincidence, in fact, that Orvieto is one of the few cities in the world whose name coincides with that of its own local wine.

描述

Campogrande is produced on the Santa Cristina estate, in the historic town of Cortona, which sits atop a hill and enjoys a truly respectable view and territory. At the summit stands the new Santa Cristina winery, founded in 2006 to renew the region's winemaking tradition, 60 years after the release of the first vintage. The estate's winemaking tradition is based on attention to detail in a process that culminates in the pursuit of the highest quality in harmony with the territory. The winery was designed by the HYDEA studio of Florence, following criteria of minimal environmental impact while respecting the surrounding area, without sacrificing the modernity and advanced technology of the winemaking facilities.

Campogrande is a Orvieto Classico, whose flavor is very reminiscent of the freshness and pleasantness of the hillside air. It is composed of Grechetto and Procanico grapes harvested starting from the second ten days of September in the balanced soil, predominantly clayey with fluvial-lacustrine deposits, typical of this hilly area. These grapes are harvested separately and taken to the cellar for destemming and crushing, which continues with the cooling of the must to 10°C to promote natural clarification. Primary fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature no higher than 18°C. Before being sold, the resulting wine rests in steel tanks at low temperatures until bottling. Campogrande is the perfect representation of its region, Umbria, which is strongly suited to producing balanced and elegant white wines in taste.

The first vintage of Santa Cristina was produced in 1946, becoming in time a point of reference for connoisseurs, and not only that, thanks to an unwavering commitment to quality. Just like a good story, Santa Cristina never gets old.

The care and attention always given to the vineyards and in the cellar have been the stimulus for constant innovation and to deal with native and international varietals, giving rise to a family of different products but distinguished by the same style, the result of an unbreakable bond between the vineyard, terroir, and human labor.

The products of the family Santa Cristina were born from this simple philosophy, thanks to an ongoing dialogue with the earth. Since 1946 continues this dedication, to keep still pristine quality of Santa Cristina.

酿酒工艺 The grapes, Procanico and Grechetto, were harvested separately and then destemmed and pressed very softly. 陈酿 The wine was then stored in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 10 °C. Working in small masses just before bottling allowed the wine to remain fresh and fragrant.
