Tenuta Guado al Tasso is located in the small but prestigious Bolgheri DOC, on the coast of upper Maremma, about one hundred kilometers southwest from Florence. This appellation has a relatively recent history, DOC Bolgheri was approved in 1994 and since then it has become an internationally recognized reference point for the Italian and international winemaking arena. The estate covers an area of about 320 hectares (790 acres) planted with vines, set in a beautiful plain encircled by rolling hillsides known as the "Bolgheri Amphitheatre" due to its particular shape.
The noble Della Gherardesca family began practicing viticulture in the late 1600’s on their land in Bolgheri, but things really began to change under the guidance of Guido Alberto Della Gherardesca (1780-1854). He was a passionate about viticulture. He was appointed majordomo of Grand Duke Leopold II and then dedicated himself to enology in his family’s land in Maremma. This appellation has a relatively short history (it was established in 1994) but boasts an international reputation as a new benchmark in the world wine scene. Tenuta Guado al Tasso covers an area of approximately 320 hectares under vine in a splendid plain surrounded by hills known as the 'Bolgheri amphitheatre' for its particular conformation. Tenuta Guado al Tasso's vineyards are mainly composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Vermentino grapes, the latter cultivated with both white and black grapes. They enjoy a mild climate due to the nearby presence of the sea: constant breezes mitigate the summer heat and the rigours of winter, clearing the sky and keeping the sunshine index high. Il Bruciato was born in 2002, in one of the most difficult vintages of Tenuta Guado al Tasso, in order to recount and make known the unique terroir of Bolgheri in a modern style. |
| 收获 | The harvest began with the Merlot at the end of August, slightly earlier than average, and continued with the Syrah and Cabernet Franc in early to mid-September before concluding with the Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon at the end of the month. The 2022 should be considered a vintage that is more oriented towards freshness and fruit expression than towards power. |

Part of the Merlot and Syrah musts were kept at lower fermentation temperatures to better preserve the varietal aromas. |
