描述
Our historic wine, produced from 1971 to 1981 as Chianti Classico Montevertine and since 1982, when we left the Chianti Classico Consortium, simply as Montevertine. Made from selected Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes, it matures for two years in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels.

Montevertine was purchased in 1967, Sergio Manetti, then the steel industry, as a holiday home. He restored the house to make it habitable and just planted two acres of vineyard and set up a small store with the idea of producing a 'wine for his friends and customers.
The first year of production, 1971, was more discreet and Sergio Manetti decided some bottles at Vinitaly via the Chamber of Commerce of Siena. It was an immediate success and so enthusiastic about Mr. Manetti that after a few years he abandoned his core business to focus solely on wine. New vineyards were planted, new wineries, and this without any interruption, with a development company that still lasts.
The farm, after the death of Sergio Manetti in November of 2000, is now run by his son Martino Manetti collaboration with Bruno Bini, born in Montevertine and deep knowledge of the area and land. Giulio Gambelli, expert wine taster, offers his advice and assistance in the preparation of wines.
