Sofia

Gioacchino was born in 1953 in Castiglione di Sicilia, a municipality on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. Giacchino is the first son of a family of farmers, and grew up living in direct contact with the land and vineyards. From his father he received both the teachings for working the vineyards, which he inherited about 4000 square metres of vineyard in Solicchiata in the Piano dei Daini district at 700 metres above sea level (1980). Over the years he managed to buy the neighbouring land from the now elderly owners. Today the company has an extension of about 3 hectares of vineyards, 2 of which are on volcanic soil and 1 on clayey soil in the Pietra Marina district, 3 km from Solicchiata.
