Patrick Javillier
The Javillier family, originating from Meursault many centuries ago, has always owned vineyards.
In 1945 however, returning from the war, Raymond Javillier, the father of Patrick, took over the direct management of the vineyards and acquired further parcels in Meursault. Complementing this activity, Raymond Javillier worked as a wine broker on French and export markets.
After obtaining his Baccalauréat in 1969, Patrick Javillier pursued oenology studies after a two year delay, due to an unprecedented crisis at this time, making white wine production non-viable. In 1973, he obtained a Diplôme National d'oenologie from the University of Burgundy in Dijon. After his studies he then fulfilled his year of mandatory military service. He vinified his first wine in 1974. The harvest was thus under his sole responsibility.
