Caol Ila

Caol Ila 「是蓋爾語 」Sound of Islay "的意思，是分隔蘇格蘭西岸 Islay 島與 Jura 島的海峽。 位於 Sound 海岸的釀酒廠由 Hector Henderson 於 1846 年創立。隨著時間的推移，酒廠的所有權經過多次轉讓：1854 年由 Norman Buchanan 買下，1863 年由 Bulloch Lade & Compagny 買下，1920 年由一群商人組成「Coal Ila Distillery Company Ltd」。1930 年，所有權轉移至 Scottish Malt Distilleries。今天，釀酒廠屬於跨國企業 Diageo 集團。
