Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG, 16% ABV, produced by Allegrini, a classic of the appellation. Blend: 45% Corvina, 45% Corvinone, 5% Oseleta, 5% Rondinella. 2020 vintage. The grapes are dried naturally, pressed and destemmed in January, and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Aged in new barriques for 18 months, followed by 7 months on the lees and 14 months in bottle. Warm notes of dried violets, ripe blackberries, sweet spices, and confit tomatoes on the nose. Ample and robust structure, with a persistent, mineral finish. Pairs well with game, grilled meats, and aged cheeses.
