From the research and the application, from the effort and the dedication of its creator, a new and at the same time ancient wine is born. New because it is produced manually and because it is created using winemaking methods that have not been adopted for many years. Ancient because the same methods he chose have their roots in the centuries-old customs of Tuscany. Guido Gualandi specialized in autochthonous vines and planted ancient clones such as Sangiovese abrusco, round leaf and pugnitello. These vines had been abandoned for more than a century, but were rediscovered by the University of Florence about twenty years ago.
Guido Gualandi's method is to intervene as little as possible on his products. A non-interventional concept. He especially avoids correcting the taste of wine in the cellar, if not with natural methods such as aging, decanting, etc...
Podere Gualandi is committed to respecting the environment: the water used is recycled and heating and hot water are produced by solar energy. Electricity is produced by photovoltaic panels. For the processing of the fields we prefer the work done by hand and minimizes the use of the tractor.
