描述
Rosso di Montalcino is a wine produced in the Montalcino area of Tuscany, known primarily for the production of Brunello (the local name for the Sangiovese grape). Rosso di Montalcino differs from the latter primarily in the length of aging. It is, in fact, a young wine, which is marketed starting the year following the harvest. This wine is produced on the Tenuta Pian delle Vigne of the Antinori family, which has a centuries-old tradition of winemaking. The Montalcino area is characterized by an extremely mild and temperate climate that allows the grapes to ripen earlier than in nearby areas such as Chianti. Rosso di Montalcino boasts the Controlled Designation of Origin. It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, a grape variety that is extremely widespread in Tuscany. The vineyards are located at an altitude between 130 and 150 meters above sea level and have a predominantly southeast exposure. The soils are predominantly clayey and calcareous, with a rich gravel composition. The grapes are harvested in mid-September and, after destemming and gentle pressing, are transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a temperature of approximately 25°C. Maceration lasts 8-10 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred to large wooden barrels. Here, the aging process begins, lasting approximately 12 months.

| 故事 | After a few years of experimentation on the vines to achieve a high-quality wine with the 2012 vintage, this Rosso di Montalcino was born, which complements the production of the other two estate wines: Brunello Pian delle Vigne and Riserva Vignaferrovia. The Pian delle Vigne estate is located 6 km south of Montalcino, above the Val d'Orcia and takes its name from a characteristic 19th-century railway station located within the estate. The estate consists of about 184 hectares, of which about 65 are planted with vines. |

| 酿酒工艺 | The precise characteristics of the soil of the vineyards help in obtaining ripe sensations in the wines and a good freshness and crispness as well. The must, after a soft pressing, fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures for eight to ten days in order to better conserve the aroma. |
| 陈酿 | The wine, after the fermentation and the subsequent malolactic fermentation, aged for twelve months in large oak casks. |
