'Corte' is not just a word but an integral part of the history and etymon of the company's terroir: Franciacorta. Its most reliable meaning dates back to the Middle Ages, when these lands, administered by Benedictine and Cluniac monks, enjoyed exemption from taxes and duties. Aura is a name with even more distant origins: in Greek mythology, she is a nymph, the daughter of Peribea and Lelanto, with movements as fast as the wind. From the Greek "alos" (crown) comes the aura by which the occult defines that subtle field of light radiation, invisible to standard perception, that surrounds and animates all living beings.
