Pleasant, distinctive, red and blue fruits such as raspberry, blackberry, and plums, white spice, undertones of limestone and sandy minerals (terroir).

Dry and sapid, characteristic, warm flavour, pleasantly tannic, lingering and harmonious. Because of the style of the terroir the Cannonau here tend to have a bit more of rustic hint to it.

Tenute Perdarubia (Perdarubia Wine Estates) was founded in 1949 by Mario Mereu, who in that year inaugurated his own winery, the first to bottle in the province of Nuoro. Ever since then, everything was focused on Cannonau, from which Perda Rubia wine is created. In just a few years, the winery contributed in spreading and making this grape variety known internationally. The founder’s work was continued by Renato Mereu, who planted their first own vineyards in 1971. Since the early 1980s the company has been processing only its own grapes. Harvest The manual harvest of the grapes takes place in the very early hours of the morning, made by a careful selection of grape ripeness, this together with the balance between the granitic soils and the hot-arid climate, are the key elements that create the merited environmental seal of Perdarubia.
Production technique They are cultivated with organic methods, without the inputs of synthetic fertilizers or irrigation, solely according to traditional farming techniques.
Wine making The fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, in permanent contact with the skins for a short period of time. A gentle crushing activity ensures that only the very best of the must undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The use of only the flower must reduces the yields of wine, for the benefit of the final quality.
