Fortified white wine from Marsala DOC in Sicily, 19% ABV, 100% Grillo. Produced by Florio, founded in 1833 and based in Marsala. 0.50 L bottle, 2004 vintage. A Marsala Vergine Riserva born from the experience of a historic winery overlooking the sea in western Sicily. Aged for over 10 years in precious 300-liter oak barrels and at least 1 year in bottle. Intense and ethereal, of great finesse, with subtle hints of vanilla, burnt honey, and toasted hazelnut. Bright antique gold color with topaz highlights. Dry and smooth, with hints of licorice and almond fused into a delicate and harmonious vanilla note.

Founded by Vincenzo Florio in 1833 in Marsala, Western Sicily, the Florio Wine Cellars gaze out towards the sea. With grapes caressed by breezes and flavourful due to the proximity to the sea, the magnificent and silent Florio Wine Cellars house the oak barrels where the Marsala Florio wines age, seemingly motionless. Hundreds of barrels, vats and wooden kegs, each holding its own story, breathe the sea through the tuff-stone floor, in the high aisles where scents and architecture blend.
