The place-name Vallocaia, of ancient wine-growing virtue, was by then abandoned when, at the beginning of the 1980s, the Swiss merchant Rudi Bindella laid the foundations for an unparalleled revival. On the other hand, Montepulciano is one of the most beautiful places in Tuscany and its soils of Pliocene origin (rich in sand, clay and marine elements), make the difference in terms of elegance in the glass and Vallocaia, falling in the cru Argiano, is a small paradise where nature seems to express itself perfectly on its own.
