Pierre Morey & Morey Blanc
The origins of the Morey family in Burgundy go back to the 16th century and in Meursault to 1793. Each generation has worked with vines and wine. Auguste Morey, Pierre Morey's father, became a tenant farmer at the Comtes Lafon estate in 1935.
He was very young at the time and had just spent a few months as a pharmaceutical salesman. With the wine economy at its lowest ebb since the Great Depression, winegrowers were finding it hard to make a living from their trade. The entire Comtes Lafon estate (14 hectares) was divided between nine tenant farmers.
The vines were located on the best sites in Meursault (Perrières, Genevrières, Charmes).
