Fattoria di Valiano is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico production area, in the municipality of Castelnovo Berardenga, a few steps from Siena. From careful historical research we learn that Valiano derives from the name of an ancient Roman condottiero, who at the time of the Gallic Wars, was assigned, according to the dictates of the Lex Julia, these lands for his particular merits on the battlefield.

Valiano covers a total area of 230 hectares, 75 of which are vineyards. The vineyards are located at an average height of 350 metres above sea level, with a predominantly South-Western exposure. The soil is composed of clay and skeleton, except for the cru Poggio Teo where sand and skeleton dominate the scene. 阅读更多

气候 Altitude: 350 m. a.s.l., and it runs along three slopes with South, East and North exposures.
土壤成分 This is the only vineyard in Valiano characterized by a sandy texture with a good presence of sandstone.
收获 The selection of the grapes starts in the vineyard; each of the three sides is harvested and vinified separately.
酿酒工艺 After the harvest, the grapes are de-stemmed and gently pressed. The must undergoes a maceration on the skins for about 10 - 15 days.
陈酿 18 months in large French oak barrels, 12 months in bottle.
