Soil composition The principal characteristic of the soils of the Vittoria area is their sandy texture. They mainly consist of loose red sand with no stones and of average depth. A layer of tufa lies at about 90 cm which is important for the water balance of the vines.
Cultivation system Spurred cordon.
Plants per hectare 4,500 kg/h.
Yield per hectare 6,000 kg/h.
Harvest Between the 20th and 22nd of September.
Wine making Grapes are destemmed and crushed followed by 7 days lying on the skins. The process continues with gentle pressure with a vertical press.
