Pierre Leboeuf

The winery was founded in Aÿ at the end of the 16th century by Elie Leboeuf and his wife Hortense (whose family owned the Clos of the same name). Hortense worked the vineyards and her husband produced the wines.

Today, the estate bears the name of Pierre Leboeuf, Vincent's father and Hélène's grandfather, who wanted to keep his name as a brand name and who now run the business together with Hélène's husband.

Vincent is nearing retirement and Hélène is about to join this new generation of women at the head of Champagne wineries.

The Champagne production is carried out in the ancient and charming mansion in the heart of Aÿ, a 16th century half-timbered house originally built for the French King Henry IV, in which there is a characteristic cave champenoise dug out of the craie, in which the bottles are refined over the years and where the very old wine press used up to about thirty years ago is still present.

Most of the 4.7 hectares of vineyards that the company owns are located in the Grand Cru village of Aÿ, one of the most prestigious and vocated villages in the Grande Vallée de la Marne and the entire Champagne wine region. The remaining vineyards are located in Mutigny and Avenay Val d'Or, both villages listed as Premier Cru.
