Maison Ventenac
Located in the heart of the Cabardès, overlooking the Cité de Carcassonne, with a southern exposure and facing the Pyrenees, Maison Ventenac covers 130 hectares of vines.
Our philosophy has always been to desacralise wine. We're a long way from the aristocracy of wine, from the overrated luxury that we see as an insult to the very concept of our profession. We strive to ensure that the simple pleasure of drinking a barrel of wine remains accessible to all, without fuss or overkill.
That's why we like to express ourselves with single-varietal cuvées. They bring together the aromatic expression of a grape variety on a terroir, a strong identity because it is monolithic, and therefore a certain obviousness when tasted. These wines leave a mark. They are taste markers. For us, a monolithic wine is not an insult. On the contrary, it's a wine that's straightforward, direct, authentic and, ultimately, simple. We like these qualities.
Lovers of complexity and more 'educated' wines will also find their way around our Cabardès PDO cuvées, which are necessarily blended, giving a wider range of aromas to taste. More weathered. More sedate. And that's not bad either...
