描述
The name seems to derive from the dialectal "al buta me al fogh" meaning "warm as fire", in relation to the fact that it is a wine of character and body. Another legend tells of a ship from the Austro-Hungarian Empire which was given the name "Buttafuoco", in memory of a navy company located in Oltrepò occupied to fight against the army of the Kingdom of Sardinia. However, rather than taking part in the battle, the sailors would have been interested in the wine cellar of the proliferating valleys. The goodness of the product, the Buttafuoco, would have mitigated the souls of the imperial soldiers that were more easily inclined to peace operations rather than war.
