Contessa Maggi Franciacorta Brut Spumante, produced by Montenisa (Antinori), 12% ABV, 2016 vintage. A Franciacorta born in the heart of Franciacorta, around the village of Calino, near Lake Iseo. Blend: 70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir. At the end of winter, following the first alcoholic fermentation, which takes place partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in barriques, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle and then stays on the lees for at least 40 months. Riddling is still done by hand using the characteristic pupitres, according to the most classic tradition, so as to ensure the most careful attention is paid to each individual bottle. Intense, persistent aroma, with elegant notes and hints of yeast. Yellow in color with pale golden highlights, a testament to the long aging on the lees in the bottle. On the palate, the notes of white-fleshed fruit lend the wine elegance and balance. It is a wine endowed with complexity, balance, and harmony, combined with a fragrance that makes it a worthy representative of the finest Franciacorta tradition.

The most important building is undoubtedly the 'Palazzetto Maggi' built in the 16th century and frescoed by the Lattanzio Gambara (1530-1574) from Brescia. This building is located in the centre of two large courtyards enclosed by porticoes.
The small church of Santo Stefano is also part of the estate. It is on the hill of the same name and overlooks the village: immersed in greenery amidst vineyards, this thousand-year-old parish church, with its Greek-cross plan, has for centuries preserved the tombs of the local noble Calini family. 阅读更多

| 故事 | The Montenisa Estate is located in the heart of the Franciacorta, in the Borgo di Calino, near Lake Iseo. In 1158 the village was given to a local noble family by the Bishop of Brescia, and towards the end of the 1800s, Lavinia Calini, who married Gaetano Maggi, inherited the property. After that, it remained part of the noble Brescian family´s estate. In 1999 the families of Marquis Antinori and Count Maggi agreed with the management of the lands surrounding the manor house, intending to produce a great Franciacorta from the noble vineyards. |
