Petit Rouge is the most widespread grape variety in the Aosta Valley. This grape variety has been cultivated since time immemorial in this area. The grape 'Orious' is also included in this family, which is the precursor of every other native grape variety from the Aosta Valley.

Origin In the historical Torrette appellation area. Vineyards are located in tows Sarre, Aymavilles, St. Pierre, Gressan and St. Christophe (Aosta).
Climate Altitude: 500-650 m a.s.l. Exposure: South, North, East and West.
Soil composition Morainic, loose, sandy on slopes.
Cultivation system Guyot. Cultivation on terraced vineyards.
Plants per hectare 7,500
Yield per hectare 10,000 kg/hectare.
Harvest By hand, in mid-October.
Wine making Fermentation for 8 days in stainless steel at 28-30°C with daily pumping-over.
Aging 8 months in stainless steel.
