Description
What kind of wine it is
Vietti Dolcetto d’Alba Trevie is a still red wine from Piedmont, a true expression of Dolcetto grapes. In the glass, it displays a brilliant purplish red colour with delicate violet hues. On the nose, it offers a clean and enticing bouquet, characterised by aromas of blackberry, raspberry and blueberry combined with fine mineral notes. On the palate, it reveals a medium body and moderate acidity, supported by soft tannins that provide excellent balance. A red wine with a straightforward character, also suitable for those following vegan diets.
Where it comes from
The wine originates from the hills of the Langhe, a region where the Dolcetto d’Alba designation reflects a strong viticultural identity. The vineyards are situated on calcareous-clay soils and are cultivated using the Guyot system, following strict organic and sustainable practices in full respect of the ecosystem. The agronomic management, guided by the experience of the historic Vietti winery, culminates in a careful manual harvest of the bunches, usually carried out at the beginning of September.
How it is produced
The cellar operations aim to enhance the aromatic integrity and vibrancy of the fruit. Fermentation in steel lasts for about a week, accompanied by daily pump-overs and délestage, essential techniques for proper colour extraction from the skins. Malolactic fermentation is also completed in steel containers. To finish the process, the wine undergoes a period of ageing without any wood contact, resting solely in steel tanks to preserve its freshness.
History and Curiosities
Since 1873, Vietti has been expressing the soul of Piedmont through Dolcetto d’Alba Trevie 2024, produced on the prestigious hills of the Langhe.
