Description

What kind of wine it is

Campo alle Comete Strabilio is a still Bolgheri white that expresses the essence of the Tuscan coast through a blend of Sauvignon, Vermentino and Viognier. It appears a pale straw yellow in the glass, offering an aromatic profile of white-fleshed fruit, citrus and delicate hints of aromatic herbs. On the palate, lively freshness combines with mineral savouriness, delivering a rich and creamy sip with a vibrant and persistent finish. This balanced structure makes it ideal to pair with refined fish dishes and soft cheeses.

Where it comes from

This Bolgheri originates from the vineyards of Castagneto Carducci, in the heart of the renowned Tuscan wine region. The proximity to the sea and the presence of sandy soils give the grapes a distinctive coastal character, ensuring elegance and finesse on the palate. These particular soil and climate conditions enhance the cultivated varieties, resulting in pronounced mineral savouriness and great aromatic precision. The influence of the natural environment is evident in the wine’s fluidity and persistence, delivering clear scents of Mediterranean scrub intertwined with pleasant and elegant saline notes.

How it is produced

Production begins with meticulous white vinification in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, to preserve the integrity and freshness of the aromas. To increase complexity, a portion of the must completes fermentation in French oak barrels. Subsequently, maturation takes place in two stages: a period in steel on fine lees to broaden the palate and a rest in wood enriched by careful weekly bâtonnage. This attentive process in the cellar shapes an intense aromatic profile and gives the wine its characteristic creamy softness.

History and Curiosities
