Description

What kind of wine it is

Ca’ del Bosco Franciacorta Cuvée Prestige Rosé is crafted from a refined blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Produced using the Traditional Method, this sparkling wine displays a fresh, crisp profile in perfect balance. Its delicate pink hue is the result of skilful skin maceration, which lends the palate an elegant and silky texture. The unique disgorgement in the absence of oxygen preserves the aromatic integrity of this Franciacorta Rosé, enhancing its pronounced dynamism typical of the Extra Brut character.

Where it comes from

The grapes are sourced from prime parcels in the heart of Franciacorta. The Pinot Noir is harvested from historic vineyards located between Erbusco, Adro, Iseo and Passirano, while the Chardonnay ripens in selected plots between Erbusco, Cazzago San Martino and Passirano. After the blend is created, the wine rests in the estate’s underground cellars. Here, the constant temperature provides the ideal environment for the long lees ageing, a crucial stage in defining the technical precision and complexity of the flavour profile.

How it is produced

After a rigorous selection and careful washing of the bunches, the Pinot Noir grapes undergo skin maceration for between twenty-four and thirty-six hours, before fermenting in small barrels and stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures. The Chardonnay, on the other hand, is gently pressed as whole bunches. After around seven months of maturation, the various base wines are combined to create the final blend. The secondary fermentation takes place according to the principles of the Traditional Method, with thirty months of ageing. The process concludes with the innovative oxygen-free disgorgement, which reduces oxidative stress and preserves the wine’s original purity and vibrancy.

History and Curiosities

The 47th Edition of Ca’ del Bosco’s Cuvée Prestige Rosé is a sublime expression of Franciacorta DOCG, born from historic vineyards of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Its delicate pink hue comes from skilful maceration on the skins, followed by 30 months of ageing on the lees. The exclusive disgorgement in the absence of oxygen preserves its absolute freshness, reducing oxidative stress. Celebrated by critics with outstanding scores, this vibrant Extra Brut offers an experience of pure charm.

Ca' del Bosco is the mainstay of the Franciacorta terroir. The Ca' del Bosco wineries were founded in the mid-1960s by Annamaria Clementi Zanella, who bought a modest house of the same name in Erbusco, which was endowed with vineyards and woods. However, her son, Maurizio Zanella, started wine production, enhancing the terroir's characteristics and transforming that small house into one of Italy's most productive wineries. In fact, these cellars are distinguished for producing the famousCa' del Bosco sparkling wine, which is characterised by its elegant yet strong personality given by intense, juicy aromas and fullness of flavour. Today Ca' del Bosco is a well-established business, producing numerous labels, including still wines, both red and white, and Franciacorta for which Xtrawine has reserved a place of honour. You can choose from bottles of the best vintages from 2008 with an ageing capacity of between 15 and 25 years that will bring out the best in all your dishes: from pasta to fish and shellfish to dessert, the fruity notes will envelop your palate with every sip. Wine making The "rosé" maceration is carried out for 24-36 hours to achieve the delicate pink hue; then the must, separated from the skins, ferments in small barrels and stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. The Chardonnay grapes are vinified by pressing whole bunches and the best fractions of must ferment separately in vats. After 7 months of maturation, the cuvée is created by blending the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines; the cuvée is then bottled and matured on the lees for about 30 months in underground cellars at 12°C, with disgorgement carried out without oxygen using a patented system.
