Description

What kind of wine it is

Corte del Lupo Bianco by Ca’ del Bosco is a still white wine from Lombardy with the controlled designation of origin Curtefranca, fermented in steel and small barrels. It is created from a harmonious blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco, offering structure and a clear savouriness. On the nose, it is fragrant, characterised by notes of golden apple, plum and pineapple, blended with delicate linden flowers. On the palate, it is dry and balanced, enlivened by a juicy citrus acidity reminiscent of grapefruit, finishing with notes of bitter orange and excellent persistence, confirming a remarkable capacity for evolution over time.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from certified organic vineyards in Lombardy, selected for their exposure and position. The name Corte del Lupo Bianco celebrates the local landscape, evoking the ancient court, the woods and the figure of the wolf as a natural guardian. This deep connection with its land of origin underpins the renowned ageing potential of this wine.

How it is produced

Ca’ del Bosco washes and dries each individual bunch to enhance its aromatic purity. Fermentation is divided between small oak barrels and temperature-controlled steel tanks, preserving the elegance of the aromas. After the initial maturation, the use of cutting-edge technology ensures bottling in the absence of oxygen without subjecting the wine to agitation. A long and careful maturation in the bottle completes the process, establishing the gustatory balance before release to the market.

History and Curiosities

Born in 1972 as Pinot di Franciacorta Bianco, Ca’ del Bosco’s first creation has evolved through various identities to become the current Corte del Lupo Bianco. Its name celebrates the region, evoking the vineyard’s courtyard, the embrace of the woods, and the figure of wolves as loyal guardians. This evocative concept, also reflected on the label, tells the story of a captivating wine, renowned for its extraordinary capacity for evolution and an unexpected longevity.

Ca' del Bosco is the mainstay of the Franciacorta terroir. The Ca' del Bosco wineries were founded in the mid-1960s by Annamaria Clementi Zanella, who bought a modest house of the same name in Erbusco, which was endowed with vineyards and woods. However, her son, Maurizio Zanella, started wine production, enhancing the terroir's characteristics and transforming that small house into one of Italy's most productive wineries. In fact, these cellars are distinguished for producing the famousCa' del Bosco sparkling wine, which is characterised by its elegant yet strong personality given by intense, juicy aromas and fullness of flavour. Today Ca' del Bosco is a well-established business, producing numerous labels, including still wines, both red and white, and Franciacorta for which Xtrawine has reserved a place of honour. You can choose from bottles of the best vintages from 2008 with an ageing capacity of between 15 and 25 years that will bring out the best in all your dishes: from pasta to fish and shellfish to dessert, the fruity notes will envelop your palate with every sip.
