Description

The Montersino company vineyards are located on the hills of San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, a small village of the town of Alba, near Treiso and are characterised by a thoroughly southern exposure at a higher altitude than Barbaresco. The soils are clayey-limestone with layers of sand and sandstone, which help to enhance the typical elegance of Nebbiolo.

The history of the company founded in the mid 40 ', when Giacomo Rocca, father Albino, started the wine business, first selling grapes from the family vineyards and subsequently vinificandole on their own, then commercializzandone the carboys in cities and campaigns.
It was in the 60s that, thanks to the legacy of some of those vineyards, Albino Rocca was able to establish what is now the current company.
A company in which his presence and his contribution, together with support for the subsequent work of his son Angelo Rocca, contributed fundamentally to a family tradition of production and appreciated internationally for years.
Thanks to the acquisition of Progressive vineyards, the vinification of Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Barbera, the increasing focus on the production of Barbaresco and the determined and constant pursuit of quality, first with thinning and carefully between the rows, and then with the renewal and expansion of the cellar, together we have built our history.
