Description
What kind of wine it is
Vietti Barolo Riserva is a still red wine from Piedmont made from Nebbiolo grapes, born from a meticulous selection of the finest vineyards to enhance the territory of Serralunga d’Alba. It displays an intense ruby red colour and an aromatic profile defined by small ripe red fruits, enriched with delicate balsamic and citrus nuances. On the palate, it reveals a medium body, rich and elegant, supported by lively acidity. The well-integrated tannins lead to a soft and pleasantly rounded finish.
Where it comes from
This Barolo reflects the characteristics of the terroir of Serralunga d’Alba. The vines grow at around 350 metres above sea level with an eastern exposure, following the Guyot training system. The roots sink into a calcareous-clay soil, an element that gives the wine a firm structure and profound expressive intensity. It is born from a rigorous selection of individual crus, combined in a blend designed to enhance the aromatic intensity, finesse, and extraordinary ageing potential typical of this area.
How it is produced
Production involves partial whole-bunch vinification, while the remaining bunches are destemmed and crushed. Fermentation takes place in steel, with maceration on the skins and pump-overs for about twenty days, ensuring optimal aromatic and polyphenolic extraction. Malolactic fermentation occurs in wood, followed by slow ageing in large barrels for twenty-four months. This wine, also suitable for a vegan diet, pairs perfectly with structured dishes based on game, red meats, and selections of mature cheeses.
