Description
What kind of wine it is
Veuve Fourny Champagne 1er Cru Rosé Brut is a refined wine from Veuve Fourny. This Premier Cru Champagne is created from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, crafted according to the strict Traditional Method. The Chardonnay brings elegance, while the Pinot Noir, hand-harvested and destemmed, undergoes a long maceration that defines the wine’s structure. On the nose, intense notes of red and black fruits emerge, leading to a fresh and distinctly dry palate.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs, within the renowned Champagne region. The winery enhances prestigious terroirs by selecting fruit from historic plots, such as the renowned Clos Faubourg Notre-Dame, ensuring great elegance and freshness. The long ageing takes place in the silent nineteenth-century cellars, where the low and constant temperature favours perfect aromatic definition and harmonious development.
How it is produced
Production uses only the first-press must. The unfiltered blend matures for seven months on the lees in barrels, acquiring a pleasant roundness. The secondary fermentation in bottle using the Traditional Method enhances the crisp and decisive profile of the Brut. This rosé pairs beautifully with shellfish and lean fish, sweet and sour dishes and cheeses, and is also ideal at the end of a meal to accompany fresh red fruits.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1856, the family-run house Veuve Fourny & Fils celebrates the excellence of the Premier Cru terroirs of the Côte des Blancs. This elegant Rosé Champagne is born from historic plots in Vertus and matures slowly in the cool 19th-century cellars. The dedication of the fifth generation is reflected in the care of the Pinot Noir, harvested strictly by hand and enhanced by a long maceration, followed by seven months of barrel ageing on the lees. Awarded 94 points by Vinous and 91 points by Robert Parker, this wine guarantees a sip of absolute prestige.

From our grandfather Albert and his son Roger and Madame Veuve Fourny, we have inherited know-how as well as ancient vineyards, including the Clos Faubourg Notre - Dame, a rarity in Champagne.
Us brothers took over the Family House in 1993. Through our personal experiences and our very different personalities, we have jointly decided the style of our cuvées.
Our collection of Champagnes highlights our Premier Cru terroir of the Côte des Blancs in a curated style, with an equal share of elegance and freshness. We do our best, from the vineyards right to the cellars, to extract the purest expression of the grapes and the terroir in order to produce champagne with a low dosage. Read more
