Description
A sweet, flavored passito produced by Velenosi. Blend: 80% Lacrima. 0.75L bottle. A wine and sour cherries born from the passion of Velenosi, a Marche-based company that has been producing high-quality wines since 1984. The wine is made from a blend of Lacrima wine and sour cherry syrup, an ancient variety of wild cherry. Pleasantly intense, like a freshly made wine. Sensual and persistent aromas of flowers and red fruits: strawberry, raspberry, small berries, hints of peach and ripe pear. Ruby red with amaranth highlights. Remarkable softness and freshness. Good structure balanced with savory and acidity. Floral notes and fresh berries, blueberries, and cherries make for a satisfying sip.

The heart of the company is located in the historic city of Ascoli Piceno, which is located in the region Marche at a distance of about 20 km from Adriatic Sea and at a height of 150/200 m above sea level.
The company's farms extend across the hills that surround the splendid valley of the Tronto river, which, thanks to its clayey and fertile soils, has always been suited to the cultivation of vines.
In addition to the four companies located in Ascoli Piceno, Castorano, Monsampolo del Tronto and Castel di Lama, there is a vineyard in the area of ??Ancarano (TE) and in the area of ??San Marcello (AN), between the Castelli di Jesi.
Since the beginning, the winery has achieved great success with journalistic criticism published in the most renowned national and international newspapers such as: W, Robert Parker, Red shrimp, Luca Maroni, AIS and many others.
This is why it is present throughout the national territory with the collaboration of 85 agencies and abroad where it is present in 52 nations both in Europe and in the rest of the world.
Production to date is approximately 2.500.000 bottles and the expectations certainly don't stop there. Read more

| Wine making | To make our wine and sour cherries we use an ancient variety of wild cherry ( Prunus cerasus ) with a dark red colour and sour flavour. The sour cherries are harvested in the first weeks of July and are macerated, partly whole and partly crushed, with sugar; this triggers a fermentation process that slowly leads to the final, soft and fragrant syrup. This product is decanted for a few days and then filtered. We thus obtain a syrup with a very high sugar concentration, which is incorporated into the wine ( Lacrima ) triggering a refermentation that amalgamates the two identities (wine and syrup ). Fermentation is stopped at around 14% alcohol by volume, with a residual sugar content that ensures pleasantness. |
