Description
Still white Riserva from Alto Adige, 13.5% ABV, produced by Tiefenbrunner. 100% Sauvignon Blanc, 2021 vintage. A wine that expresses the elegance and complexity of mountain Sauvignon Blanc, with careful vinification that enhances its mineral and fruity nuances. After initial mineral notes of flint, graphite, and schist, fruity nuances of hay and exotic fruits gradually prevail. The color is straw yellow with green highlights. A balanced and refined wine, it envelops the palate in a succession of intense and velvety flavors in perfect harmony with the acidity, confirmed by a decisive and persistent aftertaste.

| Soil composition | Sand with a medium silt content prevails in the superficial layers, with high salt and low humus content. A peculiarity is the presence of grey porphyry. In the lower layers, calcareous sandy rock predominates. This unusual rock combination gives the wine its special character of mineral notes of flint and a distinct acidity. |
| Cultivation system | Espalliera |
| Plants per hectare | 8000 |
| Yield per hectare | 42 hl/Ha |
| Harvest | This Sauvignon Blanc is harvested when fully ripe as it surprisingly retains its acidity. |
| Wine making | After maceration for eight to twelve hours and gentle crushing, 25% of the must is fermented in new tonneaux, the other 75% in large wooden barrels where alcoholic fermentation takes place and where the wine remains for almost a year. It is this process that gives the Sauvignon Blanc Reserve RACHTL all its structure and smoothness. In order not to alter its mineral notes, malolactic fermentation must be carefully avoided at this stage. |
| Aging | The two parts are then reassembled in steel vats where the wine clarifies naturally for six months. Once bottled, it ages for a further 12 months in the bottle. |
| Total acidity | 7.1 gr/L |
| Residual sugar | 0.6 gr/L |
