Description
What kind of wine it is
Lamùri Tasca d’Almerita is a full-bodied red wine that expresses the authentic character of Sicily. Made from Nero d’Avola grapes, it offers a concentrated bouquet with aromas of black forest fruits, plum and cherry, interwoven with hints of vanilla, chocolate and tobacco. On the palate, it displays marked freshness and a lively tannic structure, enhanced by a pleasant saline note. The sip is balanced and persistent, with a delicate spicy note that elegantly accompanies mature cheeses and grilled meat dishes.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the high hillside vineyards of the Regaleali Estate, located in Sclafani Bagni, in the Palermo area. The vines grow between 450 and 750 metres above sea level, an altitude that ensures gradual ripening and preserves the natural freshness of the grapes. Tasca d’Almerita cultivates these lands following strict sustainability principles, thanks to adherence to the SOStain protocol for the protection of the agricultural ecosystem. This meticulous care for the environment results in a glass with clear fruit, enriched by a pronounced savoury territorial imprint.
How it is produced
The selected grapes are vinified with fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures. A twelve-day maceration on the skins ensures optimal extraction of colour and structure, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. The process concludes with twelve months of ageing in French oak barrels from Allier and Tronçais, using wood of various ages. This ageing period gives roundness to the tannins and harmoniously integrates the spicy nuances, while preserving the original freshness and aromatic integrity.

The Tasca family is internationally recognized for its pioneering role in modern Sicilian winemaking. Since 2001, Tasca d’Almerita has pursued a project focused on enhancing native grape varieties in the island’s most vocated territories. Alongside Regaleali—the historic estate spanning approximately 500 hectares—new estates have been added: Capofaro on the island of Salina, Tascante on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, Whitaker on the island of Mozia, and Sallier de La Tour in the Monreale DOC.
In 2019, Tasca d’Almerita was named "European Winery of the Year" by Wine Enthusiast magazine. In 2021, it became one of only 24 wineries worldwide to be awarded the prestigious "Green Emblem" for sustainability by Robert Parker – Wine Advocate. Since March 2023, already a Benefit Corporation, it has earned the esteemed international B Corp certification, joining a select group of companies committed to the highest standards of social and environmental sustainability. In 2025, Tasca d’Almerita received the "Historic Brand" recognition and was officially registered in the Special Register of Historic Brands of National Interest by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.
