Description
What kind of wine it is
The Champagne Grand Cru Oger MixoLydien by Stephane Regnault is a Blanc de Blancs made from Chardonnay grapes. Aged according to the Traditional Method, it displays a straw yellow colour with golden highlights. On the nose, it reveals fragrant notes of bread crust and delicate fruity nuances. On the palate, it shows the decisive character of an Extra Brut, with a fresh, deep sip enlivened by a fine perlage. It elegantly accompanies starters, fish dishes, shellfish and cheeses, offering a drinking experience focused on purity and finesse.
Where it comes from
Originating from the Champagne region, the wine comes from Grand Cru vineyards located between Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The grapes grow in the Chemin de Flavigny, Moulin and Hautes-Mottes plots, on a chalk-rich subsoil that imparts a pronounced mineral tension. The vines, cultivated over four hectares according to sustainable principles, are between forty and sixty years old. The use of old vines allows for concentrated fruit, capable of expressing the authentic character of the terroir and its microclimate.
How it is produced
Production involves the spontaneous fermentation of Chardonnay with indigenous yeasts, vinifying the individual plots separately. Maturation takes place in steel tanks and used barrels, which add structure without overpowering the fruit. The blend incorporates a selection of perpetual reserves, creating a balanced cuvée. The secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Traditional Method, followed by ageing on the lees. The Extra Brut dosage defines a dry, harmonious and linear sensory profile.
