From this winery
Overlooking the sea in the extreme west of Liguria, a few kilometres from the French border, ‘Tenuta Selvadolce’ extends over about 7 hectares in one of the most scenic areas of the Bordighera hills.

Centuries-old olive trees, dry stone walls and Buganvillee frame the vineyard planted in the mid-1970s. In 2004, the transformation of the family's historic floricultural business into a Biodynamic farm began.

The practice of strictly sustainable responsible agriculture, which respects man but above all the environment of which he is a guest, the categorical refusal to use pesticides, chemical fertilisers and the use of renewable energy sources are the ambitious goal we have set ourselves.

Our dream is to produce quality wines in an absolutely natural way, that are elegant but with a distinct personality that speaks of the place where they are born, that wonderful land full of contrasts that is western Liguria.

My encounter with Biodynamics happened by chance in 2004.

Having graduated in veterinary medicine and suddenly having the need to take care of the family farm without having the necessary skills, I enrolled in a horticulture course held in a small village in the Langhe.

I had no idea what biodynamics was, but the name intrigued me. Among the various courses offered by the association, I found one that talked about viticulture, and since the family farm had a beautiful vineyard, I decided to take it.
