Description
What kind of wine it is
San Felice Chianti Classico Borgo is a still red wine that combines Sangiovese and Pugnitello grapes in a blend. In the glass, it expresses itself with a fresh and immediate style, offering intense fruity aromas enriched by pleasant floral notes. On the palate, it is structured and complex, supported by sweet tannins that guide the tasting towards a persistent and balanced finish. Its solid structure makes it particularly suitable for medium-term aromatic development.
Where it comes from
This expression of Chianti Classico originates in the area of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the province of Siena, crafted by San Felice. The vineyards are located at around 400 metres above sea level, an ideal altitude to impart a pleasant sensation of freshness. The vines grow on soils rich in stones and of medium texture, composed of calcareous-marl clays resulting from the disintegration of Alberese and Galestro. These geological features define a balanced flavour profile, reflecting a viticulture deeply committed to environmental sustainability.
How it is produced
Harvesting takes place between the end of September and the beginning of October, followed by separate vinification for the two varieties. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks for two weeks, preserving the purity of the primary aromas, before being transferred to large Slavonian oak barrels for ageing for about twelve months. To fully appreciate its qualities, it is recommended to decant for one hour and serve between 18 and 20°C. Thanks to this meticulous process, the wine proves ideal for accompanying game, red meats and rich cheese dishes.
