Description
Ruinart Brut Champagne is the fruit of the intuition of the Benedictine monk Thierry Ruinart, a great friend of Dom Pérignon. This important theologian passed on his love of vines and wine to his nephew Nicolas Ruinart, who founded the Ruinart Winery in 1729. Ruinart Champagne has been awarded the AOC designation, the French equivalent of DOC. An important and renowned champagne, a prestigious aperitif and the ideal accompaniment to refined fish menus. The vines used to produce this brut are mainly located in the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, two particularly prestigious areas of France for the cultivation of champagne grapes. The secrets of the Ruinart winemaking technique are very similar to those used by Dom Pérignon, precisely because of the excellent relationship between the founders of the two important wineries. Ruinart Brut Champagne is produced using grapes from three highly prized vineyards: 57% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, and 3% Pinot Meunier. A 20-25% reserve wine from previous vintages is added to this blend, intensifying the aromatic notes of the young grapes and making the cuvée more balanced. This particular and precise combination of different grape varieties, enriched with a small amount of slightly aged Ruinart, gives this brut an unmistakable and unique biscuity aftertaste. The extremely high quality of the grapes used to produce this champagne is guaranteed by the natural cultivation method, which is free of chemical pesticides. The result is a bouquet of aromas reminiscent of sun-ripened fruit and wildflowers.
