Description
What kind of wine it is
The Spumante Cuvée Morbin Extra Dry is a Venetian wine by Ruggeri, created from a harmonious blend of Chardonnay, Glera and Pinot Bianco. In the glass, it appears as a crystal-clear straw yellow, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, aromas of golden apple and peach emerge, combined with hints of acacia flowers. The palate is fresh and smooth, supported by a savoury undertone that leads to a clean finish. This Extra Dry sparkling wine shows excellent balance, proving to be extremely versatile at the table.
Where it comes from
The wine originates on the slopes of the first Dolomitic foothills, in the northern part of the province of Treviso. This Venetian territory, with its unique microclimate, ensures the optimal ripening of white grapes and preserves their aromatic tension. It is in this context that Ruggeri operates, a historic presence in the Treviso area. The vineyards cultivated on these Treviso hills benefit from temperature variations that are essential for defining the aromatic profile and creating sparkling wine bases with great expressive liveliness.
How it is produced
The harvest takes place in September, starting with Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay and finishing with Glera. After white vinification, the prise de mousse is carried out according to the Charmat Method, with a slow refermentation in large closed containers at low temperatures. This technique shapes a harmonious and fragrant profile. It pairs perfectly with Venetian appetisers, cured meats, cheeses, delicate vegetable fritters and light fish dishes.
History and Curiosities
Cuvée Morbin is an elegant tribute to Ruggeri's sparkling wine tradition, a historic family business founded in 1950. This refined sparkling wine is born on the Treviso hills, at the foot of the Dolomites, from a careful selection of Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Glera grapes. Thanks to the use of the Charmat method, the slow refermentation in autoclave shapes a harmonious profile and ensures longevity that can reach up to five years. A genuine VSQ sparkling wine that encapsulates in the glass the lively freshness and unmistakable excellence of the Veneto region.

Ruggeri’s roots stretch far back to the nineteenth century, to Eliseo Bisol, who, along with his son Luigi was one of the first winemakers in Valdobbiadene. The business’s significant growth began in 1950 when Giustino Bisol founded the current winery with his cousin, and it was his surname, Ruggeri, that was chosen as the company name. The unswerving commitment to excellence continued with the work of Giustino’s son, Paolo, and granddaughter Isabella.
Since 2017, Ruggeri has been part of the Rotkäppchen-Mumm Group, a highly fruitful partnership which has paired our shared visions, trust in common values and a mutual commitment to ever higher quality standards. Read more
