Description
Still red wine from Collio, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, 13% ABV, produced by Renato Keber. Blend: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. 0.75 L bottle, 2013 vintage. A wine born from the passion of Renato Keber, drawn to secondary and tertiary aromas, who appreciates expressive wines with enough vitality to remain youthful. Zegla is a gently sloping hill near the Slovenian border, where the Keber family has been producing wine for four generations. Manual harvest with careful selection, in the last ten days of September. Vinification involves delicate destemming of the grapes, fermentation with prolonged maceration of the skins, and soft pressing. Aged in barrels for eight months, followed by bottle aging. Soft, warm, and full-bodied, fruity and persistent.

Pairings
The gently curving hillside called Zegla, close by the border with Slovenia, has long been home to Renato Keber and his family. Renato’s great grandfather, Franc, came from nearby Vipulzano to settle here in 1900, when this was still under Austrian rule.
Since then and for four generations, the Keber family has lived and produced its wine in Zegla, and even today, the older generations join the new ones in working in the vineyards. Read more
