Description

Barolo DOCG, 14% ABV, produced by Prunotto in Alba, in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe. 1.5L magnum, 2020 vintage. A Barolo that embodies the tradition and excellence of Prunotto, a historic winery that has been producing high-quality wines since 1904. The Nebbiolo grapes, grown in soils rich in fossilized Sant'Agata marl, are meticulously vinified: maceration for approximately 10 days at 30°C, malolactic fermentation completed before the end of winter, and aging for at least 18 months in oak barrels of varying sizes. Complex and expansive aromas with hints of violet and undergrowth. Full-bodied and velvety, very well-balanced on the palate, promising a long evolution in the bottle.

The Prunotto estate is located in Alba, the most important city in the Langhe area halfway between Barbaresco and Barolo on the right side of the Tanaro river, on gentle plains surrounded by vineyards in the Langhe and Roero territories. Alba’s surrounding landscapes are captivating. The natural beauty of the gently rolling hills alternate with small sloping valleys covered by rows of meticulously cultivated vineyards.

The Antinori family, charmed by such rich natural beauty, unique vineyards and soils, decided to invest time and energy in this terroir confident that their efforts would make Prunotto what it is today, one of the most important winemaking estates in the Piedmont region.
