Description

What kind of wine it is

Barolo by Prandi is a red wine from Piedmont made from Nebbiolo grapes. In the glass, it displays a garnet red colour enhanced by ruby highlights. The aromatic profile opens with notes of rose petals and red cherry, enriched by nuances of dried herbs, liquorice and subtle spicy touches. On the palate, it offers a structured and elegant sip, supported by a refined tannic texture and a vibrant acidity. The finish is long and flavourful, confirming a strong aptitude for ageing that ensures remarkable longevity over time.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in Piedmont, expressing a deep connection with the territory of Alba. As an authentic expression of the Barolo denomination, it reflects the unique soil and climate characteristics of a historic wine-growing area. The Prandi estate, founded in the 1920s, maintains a strong family imprint. Since the 1960s, the company has consolidated a production path aimed at clearly defining the territorial identity and character of its labels. The winery constantly works to translate the origin soil into a sensory profile focused on structure, tannin and rigorous freshness.

How it is produced

The processing of the Nebbiolo grapes is carefully overseen under the oenological supervision of Alessandro Prandi. To fully appreciate its expressive potential, it is recommended to decant for about an hour and serve at a temperature between eighteen and twenty degrees. This oxygenation allows the aromatic complexity to unfold and balances the gustatory structure. At the table, it pairs masterfully with intense and flavourful dishes: it is ideal with succulent braised meats, game and truffle-based dishes, as well as accompanying structured dishes and mature cheeses.

The "Prandi" winery was founded in the 1920s thanks to the initiative of grandfather Farinetti Cav. Maggiorino, who at the time had the idea of selling part of the wine he produced for family use. In the 1960s his grandson Giovanni joined the business, giving new strength and direction to the estate. This marked the turning point that still defines the character and identity of Prandi’s wines today. Read more
