Wine-growing has a long tradition in Nalles, and can be dated back to the Roman times where it was known due to its position along the trade route: Via Appia.

Climate From continental to sub-Mediterranean, the climate is characterised by hot days and cool nights, with temperature swings of up to 20 degrees caused by falling winds. Altitude: 330-400 m a.s.l. Exposure: East/South-East.
Soil composition The soil is a 150-metre-deep alluvial cone, carved by the Sirmian stream and the Nals brook and consisting of 70% limestone gravel and 30% porphyry debris.
Harvest The grapes are harvested by hand.
Wine making After a short pre-fermentation maceration, the clarified must ferments for about 3 weeks in 12 to 30 hl wooden barrels.
Aging The new wine then matures for a further 8 months on the fine lees.
