Description
What kind of wine it is
This organic Traditional Method sparkling wine by Maso Martis embodies all the elegance of a Trento Riserva. Created from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, it appears in the glass with a bright straw-yellow hue, crossed by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it offers an intense aroma, enriched by a delicate hint of vanilla. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied texture and a smooth, mineral structure, supported by a pronounced savouriness that harmoniously accompanies the long finish.
Where it comes from
The grapes grow in Martignano, at the foot of Monte Calisio above Trento, at around 450 metres above sea level. In this mountainous setting, the vines benefit from excellent sun exposure and Alpine breezes, ideal factors to ensure a sip of great freshness and precision of flavour. The estate follows strict, certified organic viticulture practices, employing targeted soil management to protect the vines and enhance the authentic local character.
How it is produced
Production begins with a manual harvest and gentle pressing of whole bunches, with the grape varieties processed separately. The Pinot Noir is vinified solely in steel, while the Chardonnay ferments and matures in barrels for about eight months. The blend is then prepared by adding selected yeasts. The prise de mousse develops through a second fermentation in the bottle according to the Traditional Method, followed by a lengthy maturation on the lees lasting between fifty-two and sixty months. The process concludes with manual riddling and disgorgement, finished with the addition of the liqueur d’expédition.

Ever since the beginning we dedicated our activity almost exclusively to the art of producing classic method sparkling wines: a real challenge to face at that time, as this type of product from Trentino still had not achieved the reputation of high quality as it has today with the brand TRENTODOC.
We live in a house located in the heart of our vineyards and therefore for us the transition to organic viticulture was the natural consequence of our way of life that focuses on life quality.
Maso Martis is situated in Martignano at the foothill of Mount Calisio (also called Argentario) above Trento, 450 m above sea level: a mountain terrain that was cultivated as early as the end of the 800, and is well exposed and caressed by the mountain breeze. Read more
