Description
What kind of wine it is
Marina Cvetic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva is a still red wine from Masciarelli, made from Montepulciano grapes grown in the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo area. This red stands out for its structured and enveloping style, capable of evolving harmoniously over time. On the palate, it reveals a fine and velvety tannic texture, perfectly balanced by a lively freshness. Visually, it displays an intense, concentrated ruby red colour, enhanced by garnet highlights. The aromatic profile is deep and complex, with clear notes of ripe red fruit, mulberries and delicate spicy nuances.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the hills of San Martino sulla Marrucina, in the province of Chieti. The vineyards grow at around four hundred metres above sea level, on medium-textured clay soils that give the sip remarkable density and richness of flavour. The vines are trained using the simple Guyot system, with yield management aimed at ensuring the highest quality of each bunch. The influence of this distinctive Abruzzo terroir allows for a powerful yet balanced profile, where optimal fruit ripeness is combined with rigorous aromatic precision.
How it is produced
Harvesting usually takes place between the first and third week of October. The vinification process begins with fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by a prolonged maceration, essential for extracting colour and structure while preserving the grape variety’s identity. The wine then matures in first and second passage French oak barrels for a period ranging from twelve to eighteen months, before completing its journey with a final ageing. This production choice gives the wine a long and harmonious finish, enriched by persistent hints of cocoa beans.
