Still red from Piedmont, 14.5% ABV, produced by Marchesi di Barolo. 100% Nebbiolo, 2023 vintage. A Langhe Nebbiolo Bric Amel born in the ancient cellars of the Marchesi di Barolo, where history and passion blend to create legendary wines. Soils rich in quartz sand and very fine silt. The vines are trained upwards using a Guyot vertical trellis system on gently sloping, sometimes very steep, hills. The aroma opens with fruity notes of raspberry and currant, while a floral note of rose emerges in the background. Bright ruby red in color, with a faint mauve hue. The flavor is captivating, with the freshness of youth blending with the softness of ripe fruit. The barely perceptible tannins cleanse the palate.

The Marchesi di Barolo winery was founded in 1806 in the heart of the Langhe, following the marriage between Carlo Tancredi Falletti and the French aristocrat Juliette Colbert di Maulévrier, who understood the importance of nebbiolo grapes, the production of which gave rise to intense, decisive wines that would improve with time. Xtrawine devotes special attention to Marchesi di Barolo wines, proposing bottles that have received important awards from Bibenda and belonging to the best vintages of 2012, 2013 and 2016. At the end of the 19th century, the Marchesi di Barolo winery was acquired by Pietro Abbona, and is now run by his nephew Ernesto Abbona, who can count on a vineyard estate of 65 hectares from which come high-quality wines that add to the winery's fame. Thanks to the climatic conditions and the fertility of the land, aromatic, pure and simple grapes are cultivated, which are processed in the cellar to the best of their ability thanks to proven experience in the field. Wine making	The grapes are picked exclusively by hand and immediately taken to the wine factory where they are quickly destemmed and softly crushed to extract only the noble must and aromatic fractions from the skin and the outermost part of the grape. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in thermo-conditioned tanks. Periodic pump-overs allow the must to appropriately gather all the trace elements in the skins and gently extract the colour. The racking takes place at the end of fermentation.
Aging	The wine is then kept in steel vats or concrete tanks lined with fibreglass to preserve the typical fresh and fragrant aromas. In the years in which this combination is rewarding, the wine is blended with a reasonable amount of Barbera wine.
