Description

What kind of wine is it

Legrand Latour presents Champagne Campanien, a captivating Blanc de Noirs created from a meticulous blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. The glass reveals a bright straw yellow hue enlivened by a fine perlage, heralding an aromatic profile that weaves together fruity notes with fragrant hints of pastry. Thanks to its pronounced freshness and vibrant mineral streak, this Classic Method zero dosage Champagne accompanies an entire meal with ease. Its sharp, clean structure enhances dishes based on lean fish, shellfish, and seafood pasta, while also creating a pleasant contrast when paired with white meats, cured meats, and mature cheeses.

Where does it come from

Champagne Campanien is produced in France, in the renowned Champagne region. For four generations, the Legrand Latour family has been dedicated to viticulture through a precise geo-oenological approach. The vine roots delve into fossil-rich soil, a geological matrix that imparts a profound mineral character and a distinctive personality to the wine. Careful analysis of the soil's characteristics has enabled the creation of a Blanc de Noirs that authentically and clearly expresses the true essence of its terroir.

How is it produced

This wine is produced according to the rules of the Classic Method, starting with the careful processing of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. After the initial fermentation, the ageing process aims to enhance aromatic clarity without altering the original expressiveness of the grapes. Choosing the pas dosé version means preserving the lively tension and natural savouriness of the raw material. The absence of sugars at the dosage stage delivers a vertical and dry sip, where delicate yeast notes are integrated into a precisely balanced palate, ensuring precision and remarkable persistence on the palate.

History and Curiosities

From this winery
For four generations, we have endeavoured to cultivate the vines and to produce our champagnes with respect for tradition by applying new working techniques and modernising the House's equipment.

Having the honour of being the representative of Champagne Legrand-Latour today, it is my duty to preserve the values we hold dear. My father's passion for researching fossils in our terroir led me, through a geo-oenological approach, to express the influence of this Champagne subsoil, rich in fossils, and to highlight the mineral expression of our champagnes.
