Description
What type of wine it is
Le Ragnaie Brunello Montalcino Le Ragnaie V.V. is a still red wine produced by Le Ragnaie. Made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, this wine represents Tuscan excellence, bearing the Brunello di Montalcino designation. It is a structured and complex wine, capable of best expressing the characteristics of the grape variety. On the palate, it presents excellent tannins, which blend harmoniously with the savouriness and spicy notes in a particularly persistent finish. The artisanal approach and the use of indigenous yeasts enhance its authenticity.
Where it comes from
This Brunello di Montalcino comes from the municipality of Montalcino, in the province of Siena, in the heart of Tuscany. The grapes come from old vines over 40 years old, cultivated according to the principles of organic farming. The link with the territory is profound, and the winery's dedication to keeping historical traditions alive is reflected in every sip.
How it is produced
The production of this wine follows artisanal methods that respect tradition. After a careful harvest, fermentation in cement occurs spontaneously, thanks to the use of indigenous yeasts. Ageing is a long and careful process: the wine rests for 3 years in large Slavonian oak casks, where it develops its complexity and structure. Subsequently, ageing continues for a further year in the bottle before being ready for tasting, ensuring a perfect balance between the different components.
History and curiosities
The Le Ragnaie estate, spanning twenty-eight hectares, operates in full respect of the Tuscan winemaking tradition. A true production curiosity lies in the use of grapes from old vines exceeding forty years of age, which are organically cultivated. This artisanal process maintains a deep bond with historical customs, using indigenous yeasts for fermentation in concrete. The creation is rounded off with a three-year rest in large Slavonian oak barrels, a classic method awarded ninety-seven points by Robert Parker.
