Description

What kind of wine it is

Le Guaite di Noemi Amarone della Valpolicella is a still red wine produced from a blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes. A true expression of Amarone della Valpolicella, this wine enhances the appassimento technique while maintaining a distinctly dry profile with a low residual sugar content. The palate, full and structured, perfectly balances lively acidity with a soft and silky texture. The bouquet combines vibrant notes of ripe red fruit with intense balsamic and spicy nuances.

Where it comes from

This outstanding red originates in Mezzane di Sopra, in the province of Verona. The vineyards of Le Guaite di Noemi are situated between 450 and 500 metres above sea level, an ideal position that encourages even ripening and preserves the freshness of the Guyot-trained grapes. The soils, rich in white limestone, pink limestone and basaltic components, impart a marked savouriness to the wine. The winery's philosophy focuses on prolonged ageing to precisely express the complexity and layered taste of the terroir.

How it is produced

At the start of autumn, selected bunches are left to dry in the fruit loft for around one hundred days, achieving a high aromatic concentration. After crushing and destemming, a cold maceration is carried out for a week. Following alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for forty-eight months in new French barrels with medium-high toasting, completing its evolution with a further seventy-two months of ageing. The result is a significant and enveloping structure, enriched by persistent aromas of cocoa, leather, tobacco and delicate mentholated nuances.

History and Curiosities

Founded in 2002 in Mezzane di Sopra, the Le Guaite di Noemi winery enhances the Veronese territory by masterfully balancing tradition and innovation. The exceptional Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG is produced from grapes grown at an altitude of 500 metres on calcareous and basaltic soils, enhanced by the traditional appassimento method. A patient maturation of 48 months in French barriques and a further ageing of over 72 months in the bottle allow this prestigious wine to develop complex nuances, offering the palate a silky, vertical and extremely elegant sip.

Each bottle contains a story, a region, and a new understanding of wine. Every sip tells of our dedication in cultivating and harvesting grapes, giving life to wines that are spokesperson in the world of our philosophy, that of Mezzane Valley, in Eastern Valpolicella.

The idea that a wine must age for many years to reach its full expression is the foundation of our winemaking philosophy. Although it may be different and complicated in the world of wine, this choice represents our deep conviction, and our wines are tangible evidence of this.
