The winery is located in the heart of the Champagne region.

Founded at the beginning of the 20th century by Julien Lacuisse and his sons Lacuisse Fréres, the winery has developed considerably over the years, though its products have remained of impeccable quality.

The estate covers over 17 hectares, spread over the “Premier Cru” slopes within the limits of the village of Sermiers, right at the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Its vineyards consist of 70% Pinot Meunier, 15% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay.

The extreme northerly location puts the winery to the test by harsh weather conditions. The winery is in fact exposed to the continental part of the Champagne climate, which includes harsh winters and an oceanic component. This unusual combination indicates the possibility of rain throughout the year. Despite the frosts, the seasons are not very distinct, and temperature changes are moderate. The subsoil is the consequence of a protracted geological process that began 100 million years ago when silt collected on the seabed that covered what is now Champagne.

This limestone-rich silt is a great asset for the area's vines, which rely on this natural form of irrigation throughout the year. The soil of Sermiers is mostly marl, clay, and siliceous sandstone. This distinguishes the wines produced by Lacuisse Fréres from those made in other parts of the region.

The winery's Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier varieties reveal all of their taste and aromas thanks to this clay and siliceous sandstone.
